Symphonic Tango | Nov. 1, 8 p.m., Dixon Hall, Tulane University. Experience the heat of Latin Grammy-winner Raul Jaurena. Learn to tango at 7 p.m.

Brahms Piano Concerto No. 1 | Nov. 6 at 7:30 p.m., Nov. 8 at 8 p.m.; Roussel Hall, Loyola University. Klauspeter Seibel leads soloist Markus Groh. Also, Lera Auerbach’s Symphony No. 1 “Chimera.” 

Beethoven No. 4 | Nov. 20-21, 7:30 p.m., First Baptist Church, New Orleans. Also, Debussy’s “La Mer” and Mozart’s “Piano Concerto No. 12.”

Holiday Concert | Dec. 4, 7:30 p.m., Pontchartrain Center, Hall A, Kenner. 

Christmas Oratorio (Bach) | Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m., Dec. 13 at 8 p.m., Trinity Episcopal Church. With the Symphony Chorus of New Orleans and vocal soloists.

Messiah | Dec. 17, 7:30 p.m., First Baptist Church, New Orleans.  

Itzhak Perlman | Jan. 10, 8 p.m., Mahalia Jackson Theatre of the Performing Arts. The renowned violinist marks the re-opening of the performance hall.   

Beethoven and Blue Jeans | Jan. 13, 6:30 p.m., Mahalia Jackson Theatre of the Performing Arts. Beethoven’s colossal Symphony No. 5. 

Brahms Symphony No. 2 | Jan. 29-30, 7:30 p.m., First Baptist Church, New Orleans. Ravel’s colorful “Alborada del Gacioso” opens the program.
