Founded in 1993, the Shakespeare Festival at Tulane, is a professional theater company in residence at Tulane University. Through an annual season of professional plays and arts-in-education outreach programming, this theater company performs the works of William Shakespeare.

As You Like It (for schools) | Jan. 7-9 and 13-16 at 10a.m. This remount of the critically acclaimed production from summer 2008 is presented as an educational opportunity for students. For public: Jan. 9 at 7:30 p.m.
National Shakespeare Competition (New Orleans Region) | Jan. 31. The regional tournament of the English-speaking Union of the United States’ National Shakespeare Competition is open to high school students in grades 10-12. It is a preliminary to the national competition scheduled in New York in April 2009. Call 504-865-5015, ext. 7 for information.
Shakespeare on the Road | Available to middle and high schools throughout the school year, a team of professional actors presents “Shakespeare and the Language that Shaped a World,” a live performance of excerpts from many of the plays.
